Tate Bertelsen is the consummate teammate. He is very coachable, has extreme character traits and is a tremendous leader. His work ethic in practice and games, was a model for his teammates to emulate. A two-year Captain, playing varsity for three years.

The Hobey Baker Award believes that adversity builds character, and character builds excellence. Tate had his own adversity to overcome. Injured during the season but this didn’t detour Tates’ commitment to the team. Supporting his teammates on and off the ice, in the classroom and leading during community service events.
