Savannah Rivera is the Senior Captain for the Hopkinton Hillers Girls Varsity Hockey Team. In the time that I have coached her, Savannah has proven to be a key figure in the locker room, earning the distinction of being elected as the sole captain for the 2024/2025 season.
As captain, she consistently steps up to represent the team, eagerly volunteering for activities that promote the team and engaging with the Youth Hockey Programs. Savannah has been instrumental in fostering a team culture rooted in sportsmanship, accountability, and teamwork. Her leadership extends beyond words—she leads by example on the ice, demonstrating significant personal growth and doubling her offensive contributions from the previous season.
Savannah’s leadership also extends to her collaboration with the coaching staff. I have come to rely on her insightful input regarding game strategy and the team’s morale. Her feedback has been invaluable in helping me guide the team through challenges and adversity.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Savannah is a dedicated student-athlete. She maintains a strong commitment to her academics, ensuring that her scholastic responsibilities are met with the same passion and discipline she brings to the rink.
