Ryan Potocki
2025 | Missouri | BOYS
Fort Zumwalt West High | Jaguars | BOYS
Ryan is the type of player that every coach dreams of. He showcases what it means to be a true student athlete, a student of the game, but most importantly a role model to his teammates, opponents, his school, and his community. Ryan everyday is doing something to help better himself, both in the classroom, and on/off ice. But what makes him a special person, is the help he gives others away from the rink. Ryan helped orchestrate a clothing drive in partnership with Maryville University, which helped collect, and donate over 300 items of warm winter clothing for those less fortunate during the Christmas season. He came to me and asked how he and the team to contribute to the “Giving Tree”. He wanted to gather as many items as possible, and have the program hand deliver the items to the charity of choice. He was always asking for donations, and pushing his teammates and the community to help give to those that needed warmth during the cold months. He rounded up his teammates, brought the items to the university, and then helped donate to the local charity. This selfless act helped over 300 people get some piece of warm clothing, and did so while being a student athlete.
On the ice, Ryan wears an “A” and he is always helping coach his peers, and the freshman. He wants them to succeed, and he wants them to have a memorable experience, one that will last a lifetime. There is truly no better of a recipient for this award than Ryan Potocki.
