Ryan Kmiec
2025 | Massachusetts | BOYS
North Andover High School | Scarlet Knights | BOYS
Ryan has been a goalie on our varsity team for four years and became the starter only as a Senior. From the very beginning of his Freshman season I knew he would be special for his goaltending but also character. Ryan never once complained about the amount of playing time he got in games as he knew that he helped the team whether he played in games or not. Ryan always worked hard in practice, even when it would’ve been easy to have a light day. He knew that giving his full effort not only helped himself get better but the team, as well.
On the ice Ryan is a fierce competitor. His athletic ability and work ethic more than make up for his size as he is not as big as most modern goaltenders. His is ability to shut teams down with structured, well-positioned play in addition to acrobatic saves gave opposing teams a lot of trouble. Off the ice Ryan is a kind, well-mannered young man that has shown tremendous character in so many ways. He is always involved in any fundraisers for charity throughout the season and off-season, is a great support and role model for youth athletes, and the first to offer help when someone is in need.
I’m proud to have coached Ryan and watch him grow as both a goaltender and young man over the last four years.
