It is our privilege to nominate Owen Dow for the Hobey Baker Award. His work ethic, natural leadership abilities and ability to see situations and improve them for others are many of his qualities that come to mind when considering his nomination. Owen is one of the most liked guys on his team, and everyone has a story of a talk with Owen in which he was able to shed great perspective and help others. As a goalie, Owen’s work is consistent and evidence of his dedication to his craft. His competitive nature and ability to battle through difficult situations shines every time he is between the pipes. Owen is wise beyond his years in the way he processes information and communicates. It is evident in every interaction that he truly listens and connects in conversation. As a coach, it is nice to let Owen go and do what he does best, motivate and inspire others by being himself. Owen is the player that whether on the bench, or in the crease, can be counted on to communicate and encourage his team. His ability to read situations and his team mates allows him to offer timely feedback as corrections, praise, and encouragement. We are lucky to have Owen as a part of our program and look forward to seeing his future successes!
