I have had the pleasure of being Nora’s varsity hockey coach for the past 4 years and I mean it when I say that it has truly been an absolute pleasure. Nora is the type of person that everyone wants to be around. She has this personality about her that is calming, reassuring, funny, caring, and so unbelievably sweet. Nora was voted one of our team captains this season and every bit of it was so deserving. When every single player on the team votes unanimously for someone to wear the “C” and help lead and guide their team throughout the year, it says something extremely special about that player. For me personally, it has been an honor getting to know Nora so well over the last 4 years. She comes to the rink every day with a smile on her face which automatically puts a smile on my face. Nora is someone that I am so unbelievably happy to see have success because she is someone that truly deserves it. She is so humble and modest that someone looking in from the outside may have a hard time really understanding how special this young woman really is, but that’s why I think everyone who gets to know her feels so blessed to have her in their life. On top of everything, Nora’s involvement in the community within athletics and school makes her stand out even more. Nora is a very special kid, who has worked so hard to achieve so many things and I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of being our Hobey Baker Character Award winner this year.
