Monty is an excellent hockey player and excels at the most difficult position to play, goaltender. He has been the varsity goaltender since his Sophomore year, and has played his best when it has meant the most. He helped the team win their first ever league tournament championship with a 2-0 shutout over the Knights top rival.

While this season has been up and down for the team, it has been anything but that for Monty. In the face of team struggles, he is having his best statistical season with a 91% save percentage. He is even keeled in the locker and on the ice. His leadership has been invaluable and has been a great mentor and example for our very young team.

Monty is a three-sport athlete. Along with excelling at hockey, he was a starting linebacker for his high school football team and is going to pursue playing lacrosse in college. He is a selfless person on and off the ice, and is the biggest cheerleader for his goaltending partner. Monty is a very deserving winner of the Hobey Baker High School Character Award for the Central Indiana Knights.
