Countdown to Hobey:

Liam Lacy

2025 | Colorado | COED

Arapahoe Hockey | Arapahoe Warriors | COED

It is with great pride and admiration that I nominate Liam Lacy, a senior at Arapahoe High School, for the Hobey Baker High School Character Award. Liam embodies the spirit of this prestigious honor through his consistent demonstration of character, leadership, integrity, and sportsmanship both on and off the ice.
Liam has been a cornerstone of our team culture. His commitment to excellence, tireless work ethic, and humble leadership have inspired teammates and coaches alike. Whether it’s leading drills in practice, encouraging younger players, or holding himself accountable in tough moments, Liam has proven time and again that true leadership is about example, not just words.
Off the ice Liam has committed himself to training to become both a firefighter and EMT, a calling that reflects his deep desire to serve others. Whether he’s studying emergency response procedures, training at the local fire department, or completing clinical hours, Liam approaches it all with humility, focus, and maturity well beyond his years. It’s rare to see a high school student so determined to run toward the challenges that most would shy away from. But that’s who Liam is, someone who shows up, steps up, and puts others first.
What truly sets Liam apart is his unwavering respect—for the game, his teammates, opponents, officials, and coaches. He plays the game the right way: hard, clean, and with a deep sense of honor. He represents everything the Hobey Baker Award stands for: character, dedication, and sportsmanship.
For all these reasons, I am proud to nominate Liam Lacy for the Hobey Baker High School Character Award. He is a young man of exceptional character, and he is richly deserving of this recognition.
