I would love to pass on a few words as to why I nominated Kelsea. I have had the privilege of having Kelsea on my varsity ice hockey team for the past 3 years and I am sad that she is going to be a senior. As a freshman, Kelsea came in as a strong player and a natural leader. Kelsea has a great work ethic both on and off the ice. Kelsea always puts the team ahead of herself. In the past 3 years, I have had to play her in different positions depending on the game. Kelsea adapted well to the challenge and had a positive attitude with the changes. Kelsea is a committed athlete who communicates well with her coaches. She listens to direction, takes constructive criticism well and is able to ask questions when she is unsure of a situation. I am always pleased with her consistent effort in games and practices. Kelsea is a great teammate who I always hear cheering on her team during contests. She is respected by her Coaches, teammates and opponents. I never doubt Kelsea’s commitment to the team and program. I have also thought highly of her sportsmanship over the years. Kelsea is an absolute pleasure to have on my team. I am excited for her leadership/captain role as a Senior this season. She is the total package of an athlete, scholar and person. She is just a lovely young lady who I had the pleasure Coaching for 4 years.
