When thinking of words to describe Giada’s character, the words driven, leader and resilient come to mind. Giada has played an integral role in all four years on the Hamden Co-op ice hockey team. Giada has withstood pressure each year, earning her a spot on the all conference and all state teams multiple times in her career. I have seen first hand the way Giada has persevered through challenges each year, individually and as a team, and has found ways to bring her teammates together to face these challenges and succeed. It is evident that Giada has grown as an athlete, but also as an individual as her leadership skills have flourished throughout her four years, making her a captain her senior year. Giada has shown underclassmen that they can trust her, she motivates the team each day and has provided guidance to younger athletes, both on and off the ice. Her work ethic drives her to take any critiques from her coaches and perfect them until she is the best she could be. In addition, Giada excels academically, earning a spot in the National Honor Society. She has proven through her four years, to be a great leader, mentor and teammate. Giada has provided a great example for younger student athletes on how to achieve success in her sport and the classroom.
