Countdown to Hobey:

Brynley Coleman

2024 | Minnesota | GIRLS

Crookston | Pirates | GIRLS

Brynley Coleman came in to the Pirate program as an 8th grader with the Mayville/Hatton, ND Co-op, which gave those girls an opportunity to play high school hockey, and gave the Pirates more numbers that we needed to keep the program afloat. During Brynley’s time as a Pirate she found her voice, built her confidence in being a leader, worked everyday, and put in extra to earn a spot in the starting line up. Which wasn’t an easy task, but that never stopped her from putting in the work to get there. Even in the face of adversity, Brynley would not only find a way to overcome that obstacle, but would learn how to find the positives in any situation that stood in her way. She always did everything with a smile on her face and a positive mentality on and off the ice. I am very proud of Brynley, for not just putting in the work to achieve her goals on and off the ice, but for being a great person, teammate, leader and friend along the way. It has been an absolute honor to have the opportunity to have coached a player like Brynley. Not only has she made me, and the other Pirate coaches proud, but she has made the Crookston community, Hatton community and Mayville community proud, and has represented each one of those with pride. She has left her mark on the Pirate Girls Hockey Program, and will be leaving it better than when she found it.
