Billy Downs has been on the Varsity hockey team for 3 years and has had a great career for the Eastview Lightning, he was named captain by his peers this past season and is a true leader on and off the ice. When I think about Billy, there are so many things to come to mind that make him who he is and what I know he will become. He comes from a great family, he’s a tremendous teammate, friend, and fearless leader, he has all the necessary intangibles and makeup of a hockey player, but more importantly as a person. I’ve had the pleasure of coaching him for the past 3 seasons, he has an impeccable work ethic and drive to not be stopped, and his personality is infectious and spreads throughout the team. He’s made such an impact on this program, his team, and myself, and as a coach, he is what you want players to strive for, he is the example and standard. I know he will go on to do big things in life and left his mark on the Eastview Hockey Program and community.
