I am honored to write this letter of recommendation for Ethan Unglesbee, a senior at Simley High School and a standout member of our boys’ hockey team. Ethan embodies the core values of the Hobey Baker Award—character, leadership, and sportsmanship—both on and off the ice.

As a coach, I have had the privilege of witnessing Ethan grow as an athlete and individual over the past year. On the ice, he demonstrates exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork, consistently putting the team’s success above personal achievements. Off the ice, he leads by example, focusing on academics while actively mentoring our younger players and youth, including leading volunteer events for toys for tots, reading books at local elementary schools and mentoring a youth hockey team.

What sets Ethan apart is his unwavering integrity and ability to inspire those around him. He approaches every challenge with humility and grace, modeling the qualities of respect and perseverance that the Hobey Baker Award seeks to recognize.

I am confident that Ethan exemplifies the essence of this prestigious award. His dedication to excellence, sportsmanship, and leadership make him an outstanding candidate.
