Less than two years ago, Kate had never played the position. But when her team needed a goaltender, she didn’t hesitate—she stepped up, put on the pads, and committed herself to mastering one of the most demanding positions in all of sports.

Kate’s transformation into a top-tier varsity goaltender is a testament to her relentless work ethic and fearless determination. She trained tirelessly, never allowing setbacks or defeats to discourage her. Instead, she used every challenge as an opportunity to improve. This season, she has solidified herself as Fairfield’s starting varsity goaltender, earning three shutouts, including a standout performance against Trumbull where she made 17 saves in a crucial FCIAC victory. Her stellar play earned her recognition as The Connecticut Insider High School Athlete of the Week, a testament to her skill and impact on the ice.
