The Hobey Baker Award is one that encompasses much more than statistics. The
Hobey Baker Aware is named after Hobey Baker, an early 20th century hockey
player. This award has been presented annually since 1981. 

Recipents of this award exhibit strength in character, both on and off the ice. They
hold the team to a high a level of intregrity. Recipients remain calm under pressure,
show humility during success, and sportsmanship when faced with a difficult loss.
They also excel academically. Recipents also are highly involved within their
community in various aspects. 

Our nomination for the Hobey Baker Award is Grant Gunglogson. Grant’s character
is one of integrity, honor, and humility. While Grant did not play every varsity game,
his presence was always known. He has provided a positive influence to his
teammates in all areas. He has never shied away from a challenge. He gave 110%
at every practice, and during every game. He was willing to go the distance, while
encouraging his teammates to do the same. 
Throughout your high school career, you have been an outstanding young man to
watch. You have colaborated with your teammates in a fun way. Your charismatic
nature encouraged others when it was needed. You have always seen the positive,
even in difficult situations.
