Ben is an incredible kid. 3 years ago I never thought he would have made our high school team. His work ethic is second to none, which is why he has made himself an important part of our line up. He is not flashy, nor does he score a ton of goals, but his character speaks volumes for who he is and his work ethic on the ice does the rest of his talking. In the classroom he has a 3.9 gpa. Has helped with Habitat for Humanity projects and also with the youth organization within our arena in Grand Rapids. We are blessed to have a team mate like Ben DeYoung on our team. He makes people around him better as hockey players and individuals.
