Courtney is a talented multi-sport athlete voted by her team as an Assistant Captain during her Junior year and as Captain for her senior year. She is a 4-year varsity hockey player. She also plays field hockey, lacrosse, and Hockey for MHS. In the summer, she can be found working at Rocky Roads slinging Ice Cream or at the Green Harbor Yacht Club, teaching kids how to sail. Courtney is a member of the National Honor Society and the Gold Ribbon Club, raising money for childhood cancer patients. She is also a Key Club and Operation Smile member, which raises money for children with cleft lip. Courtney is an officer in the DECA program, and she travels and competes in the program for the School Business Department. Courtney is a dependable defenseman who logs many minutes, even strength, power play, and penalty kill. She is even-keeled, a positive vocal leader in the locker room, and passionate about her team and its success. She attends JV games to cheer on her younger teammates and help the coaches on the bench. She has previously been awarded the “Patriot League Sportsmanship Award.” Courtney truly embodies the characteristics of the Hobey Baker candidate of coachability, strength of character, integrity, commitment, teamwork, community building and outstanding sportsmanship.
