Derik Dahl is our selection for the High School Hobey Baker Award. This honor recognizes student-athletes who embody the core values of hockey—coachability, integrity, commitment, teamwork, strength of character, sportsmanship, and community leadership. Derik represents them all.
A stalwart on the Wolverine blueline since 9th grade, Derik has been a key presence on the ice, leading by example with his work ethic and dedication and consistently defending other teams’ top players. He has also showed growth is his offensive abilities often jumping into rushes and showing confidence when the puck is on his stick. Serving as our team captain in his senior year, he continues to inspire his teammates with his grit, leadership, and commitment to the program. His team-first mentality and ability to elevate those around him make him the ultimate teammate.
This award is a testament to everything Derik has contributed to Wolverine Hockey over the past four years. We are incredibly proud of him and grateful for the legacy he leaves behind.
