Sam has been playing on with the Varsity team ever since he arrived to the program. He is an easy going kid, all his teammates love him and he brings energy coupled with enthusiasm every night. He has played in every situation for us and is always a player we tap on the should when we need him. He has played every forward position, defense and every position on the power player and penalty kill. He is quite literally an all around player we constantly rely on.

We felt he is a no brainer for the Hobey Baker Award this season. He never complains, he never sulks, he goes out and does his job every shift. He is willing to be put in any position on the ice or as a leader. He has blossomed as a leader this year, being vocal when needed and taking control on the ice when we need him as well. His character has truly lead to his excellence this season. He had been frustrated with production in past seasons, but since wearing the A on his uniform this season the production has come in numbers and we feel that is due to the work he puts in as a leader of this program.
